An anachronistic photograph shows Martha's family although the people in it are not named. Possibly the girl is Martha and she is with her mother and father or the woman is Martha and she is with her husband and daughter.
It is implied that Martha lost her family to the Darkling, although when she is at the Grotto of Darkness she is preoccupied with Gweekin and does not look for her family and remains alone with her pet.
